About VENTComfort

By Luke Marino, founder

Why VENTComfort was established?

VENTComfort was born out of a simple frustration: the growing number of poorly designed and specified MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery) systems. After spending five years in the MVHR industry and personally producing hundreds of detailed MVHR drawings, I noticed a concerning trend — more and more companies opting for 2D only sketch ups, with the attitude of "we’ll just figure it out on site."

The danger of this approach?

This approach almost always leads to issues down the line and consequently disgruntled home owners.

MVHR systems can take up a large amount of space and therefore without a thorough and well-coordinated in both 2D/3D design reviewed by all key parties including end users, architects and developers, projects often run into unexpected problems on site. These can include the need for additional bulkheads, service voids, or dropped ceilings that were never accounted for.

The consequences of poor design are also serious from a performance point of view; excessive noise, high pressure, and uneven air distribution are just some of the common outcomes.

How VENTComfort are different?

At VENTComfort, we’re committed to doing things differently.

Our mission is to be by your side every step of the journey, starting with a carefully considered, detailed design process. We work collaboratively with all relevant parties to ensure your MVHR system runs quietly, efficiently, and exactly as intended. We specialise in 2D and 3D drafting using AutoCAD, paired with a specialist add-on software, allowing us to capture every detail and reduce the risk of costly surprises on site. We’re also committed to visiting your site in person, giving us a real-life understanding of the project to make sure nothing is overlooked.

VENTComfort don’t just stop at design

Once the design is signed off, we produce a precise bill of materials to ensure that all specified components are delivered accurately to site.

As part of our design and consultancy package, we also provide detailed installation drawings to support the installation process — whether it's being carried out by you, your builder, or one of our approved installers.

When the project nears completion, we can arrange for an experienced MVHR engineer to attend site, commission the system, and provide the necessary certification for Building Control.

The type of projects VENTComfort work on?

We specialise in domestic projects, and no job is too big or too small.

With hundreds of successful MVHR design projects under our belt — from Passivhaus and EnerPHit standards to large, unique Grand Designs-style homes and everything in between — we have the expertise to support your property.
